The Pantanal—the world’s largest tropical wetland spanning 150,000 km²—is under threat from wildfires and climate change. With over 650 species and vast remote stretches, traditional field surveys simply cannot scale to meet the urgency of conservation.

In this competition, you’ll develop models to identify understudied species from their vocalizations in Pantanal audio recordings, turning sound into tools to support biodiversity monitoring.
