Unplug and Stay
In our screen-saturated world, something beautiful is happening every Thursday at 71 North Partnership Studio. From 12:00-1:00 pm, phones power down, laptops close, and genuine human conversation takes center stage. Unplugged Conversations brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members for an hour of authentic dialogue. No devices, no distractions—just people sharing stories and ideas in a welcoming circle. The format is simple yet powerful. After devices are set aside, participants engage in paired conversations around thoughtful themes: What does it feel like to be truly heard? Where do you feel most at home? What moment shaped your path? These aren’t small talk topics—they’re invitations to connect on a deeper level. When screens aren’t competing for attention, something shifts. Eye contact becomes natural. Listening deepens. Participants consistently report feeling genuinely heard, often for the first time in weeks. The structured format—moving from small groups to open circle sharing—helps even shy voices emerge. Each session closes with reflection, whether through journaling, a one-word takeaway, or contemplative questions. Participants reclaim their devices intentionally, carrying forward insights from real human connection. Come as you are. No registration, no agenda beyond authentic exchange. Leave refreshed, inspired, and connected—not to a network, but to your community and yourself. Unplugged Conversations meets every Thursday, 12:00-1:00 pm at 71 North Partnership Studio. Open to all.
